Monday 091310 – Power Snatch


Power snatch 1-1-1-1-1, then:

4 Rounds for time of:
10 CTB pullups
15 Box jumps
20 Kettlebell swings (53/36)

Mobility WOD – 2 minutes each shoulder, 2 minutes each hip, 8 minutes total.

Post loads and times to comments – If you’re experienced with the snatch and want to try for a PR or want to work on the full “squat” snatch, you’re welcome to do so.  The “power” version is programmed primarily to keep from having too much squatting during the week, but if you didn’t come in on Sunday or aren’t coming in on Tuesday there’s not reason to not do the full snatch.

Dara Torres is training for the 2012 olympics at age 43 – age is just a number. 

Check out this brief summary of her training program for the 2008 olympics – less volume, higher intensity sessions, weightlifting that stimulates her central nervous system, and 2 full-time massage therapists.  Most of us don’t have the massage therapists, but foam rolling with a massage a few times a month is a good low-cost substitute for that kind of recovery therapy.
