A study reports that high intensity interval training leads to improved fitness gains in less time.
“High-intensity interval training is twice as effective as normal exercise,” said Jan Helgerud, an exercise expert at the Norwegian University of Science and Technology. “This is like finding a new pill that works twice as well … we should immediately throw out the old way of exercising.”
They also said that only elite athletes should perform exercises in an “all-out effort”, which any CrossFitter will tell you is ridiculous. The intent of the article is good though.
