Olympic lifting focus session is this Wednesday @ 7pm with Jake Rubash.  This is a great chance to practice and learn the olympic lifts with a great coach outside of the confines of regular classes!

CFSP Bootcamp is coming soon, stay tuned for details!

Front Squat 2-2-2-2-2, then:

For time:
20 Knees to elbows
40 Stick jumps
60 Kettlebell swings (53#/35#)
40 Stick jumps
20 Knees to elbows

Stick jumps are lateral jumps over a parallete. They must start from two feet and have both feet go over the bar together.

Click here to see the American Heart Association’s list of Heart Healthy packaged foods that they authorize the use of a red check mark to signify they’re ok to eat because they’re low in saturated fat and cholesterol.  Here’s the list of cold cereals:

Berry Burst Cheerios-Triple Berry
Cheerios
Cheerios Crunch
Honey Nut Cheerios
Kashi Heart to Heart Honey Toasted Oat Cereal
Kashi Heart to Heart Oat Flakes & Wild Blueberry Clusters
Kashi Heart to Heart Warm Cinnamon Oat Cereal
Multi Grain Cheerios
Oatmeal Crisp Crunchy Almond
Oatmeal Crisp Hearty Raisin
Quaker Cinnamon Life
Quaker Heart Health
Quaker Life
Quaker Life Maple & Brown Sugar
Quaker Oat Bran
Quaker Oatmeal Squares – Brown Sugar
Quaker Oatmeal Squares – Cinnamon

Pretty humorous no?  Even better is their list of healthy milk choices, which is close to my heart as a dairy lover:

Farmland Dairies Special Request Skim Plus 100% Fat Free Milk
Farmland Dairies Special Request Skim Plus 100% Lactose Free Fat Free Milk
Farmland Dairies Special Request Skim Plus Chocolate Fat Free Milk

So chocolate milk is heart healthy because it’s fat free, nice.  I realize that the administrators at the AHA and other organizations like this are trying to help people, but these lists are a great thing to reference when you tell people that official dietary guidelines in our country are out of whack with reality, and maybe there’s a better way to think about food.
